Many of us, yours truly included, are most comfortable sleeping on our sides and we deserve mattresses that cater to our bodies and ensure we wake up comfy and pain-free. Obviously, the kind of mattress you buy matters, and if you’re hoping to get a new one that’s great for how you prefer to sleep while everything’s on sale for Labor Day, we can help.

We teamed up with Sleepopolis to bring you the best deals on the mattresses best for those of us who sleep on our sides. We’ve only tested a handful of mattresses so far, but Logan at Sleepopolis has tested hundreds, so he gave us his top picks based on his data and experience. They are soft enough to prevent pressure buildup while being firm enough to provide support for a comfortable night’s sleep.

1. Helix 

The deal: Helix has three ways to save this Labor Day:

Helix, our favorite luxury mattress, offers a full line of hybrid beds in a number of different feels and firmnesses, but they’re all well suited for side sleepers, so you can’t go wrong. 2. Casper Wave

The deal: From now through August 29, you can save 15% on the Casper Wave mattress with the code LABORDAY15. 

Casper’s line of foam beds provide great pressure relief and support to a range of sleepers, and the Wave is the top option for side sleepers. The Wave is entirely of memory foam, and is designed to be more luxurious than the original, and its materials allow it to better relieve pressure—a must for people like us. The Wave originally started at $1,345 but is down to $1,143 right now. It’s definitely pricier than other options, but will cater to your sleep needs.

3. Purple

The deal: Now through September 10, if you purchase the newest Purple mattress, you can get two free pillows and a free set of sheets, worth up to $327. If you opt for the original model, you’ll be able to choose free sheets or a free set of pillows.

Purple mattresses, among Reviewed’s favorite mattresses, use a proprietary material called hyperelastic polymer. It’s a bouncy material that sleeps cool and is set up in a great structure to provide nice pressure relief and support in multiple positions. I’ve personally slept on a Purple for nearly three years and can confidently say it’s one of the most comfortable beds I’ve slept on (and I test mattresses too).

4. Layla

I tested the Layla mattress for over 30 days to get a real sense of the comfort levels, and I actually noticed diminished pain in the shoulder I sleep on. It was the perfect blend of firm and soft on its firmer side. Yes, it’s double-sided, so you can find the perfect firmness, which is a fun feature and a great way to ensure you’ll be happy with your mattress. Logan also found that it was one of the cooler mattresses he’s tested—a sentiment I echo—so it’s a bonus if you sleep hot.
