Mac and cheese ice cream – yes, you read that right – is coming back. Here’s how to buy it.
It appears mac and cheese ice cream was so popular, Kraft is making it available for purchase once again.Kraft revealed Tuesday it is bringing back the combination of macaroni and cheese and ice cream as part of a partnership with Brooklyn-based Van Leeuwen Ice Cream. The concoction was originally made available last month to honor National Mac & Cheese Month.”We screamed. You screamed. Everybody screamed for more @VanLeeuwen Ice Cream,” wrote Kraft in a tweet Tuesday. The frozen treat is available for $12 a pint, but customers are limited to only two pints per order “so that everyone gets to try it,” said Van Leeuwen on its website, where you can purchase. For those gagging at the thought of mac and cheese with ice cream, several outlets who have tried the ice cream said it’s actually very tasty.”The cheese powder combines with Van Leeuwen’s rich base, made with milk, cream, and sugar, to produce a buttery flavor that’s only slightly cheesy,” said Eater writer Amy McCarthy. “It doesn’t exactly evoke a bowl of macaroni and cheese in terms of texture, thankfully, but the flavor is strikingly similar.” Mark your calendars: Windows 11 to launch Oct. 5.
